All of a sudden we (me and my husband) have planned a weekend trip to hill station Darjeeling (West Bengal). On a delightful sunny morning we went about walking around Mall Road and between the Darjeeling tea as a morning sip and a lunch buffet there is not much time to take a break for breakfast. But however breakfast is the best ritual to start your day in the best of way.
We decided to look around for a nice cosy place to eat breakfast. We walked around for a bit in Mall Road and chanced upon Glenary’s on the downside lane of Mall Road .
It is a landmark of Darjeeling Mall Road. The huge wooden framed glass door, cakes , snacks and pastries in the long glass case are waiting to break upon them. We sat in corner since that gives you an additional option of a view of Kanchenjunga as well.
Now I don’t remember the names of the dishes they have but mine was a combination of chicken burger, French fries ,fried bacon, sausage with omelette and it was absolutely delicious! Along with some hot chocolate (for my husband) and cappuccino coffee (for me) . The extra addition is sights , fresh air , and sounds of Darjeeling. Here’s the all about.
This red colored old Telephone Booth is very symbolic of the early era. A light music always creates a soothing atmosphere of the cafe all the time.
