Few days back I was invited to attend the opening party of Designer Pallavi Mohan’s Not So Serious, Pre-Fall and Autumn-Winter Runway 2016 Collections in Kolkata. The first thing what I should have to mention is that Pallavi is such a nice person with a real generous heart 🙂 ! It was her solo exhibition at “The Space At 9/2” and the exhibition was full of charms. The exhibition space was nicely decorated and the soft colour scheme was enough to change your state of mind immediately 😀 😀 . Origami flowers, mannequins and soothing music: the atmosphere was totally awful.
The designer has chosen an unique theme for the Preview Party that is “Whimsy Under the Sea”, the life rhythms of the deep seas through the juxtaposition of plain and surface ornamentation, intense colours and interludes of breathing space. Pallavi developed a new visual language, ‘Synthesis’ which is inspired by the unification of elements, ideas and hand crafted techniques from the past. Her conceptualization of depicting garments and implementation of energy through those are the real statement to follow. Using of woolen tweeds, soft velvet, silk organza and satins make her collection eccentric.
It was a great time with Mrs. Madhu Neotia 🙂 .
